We advise clients on the reuse of redundant and underused buildings while considering the various up to date planning policies and revisions to Prior Approval rights. The conversions we have undertaken vary from small redundant outbuildings, modern steel frames to Grade II listed tithe barns. We seek to balance the retention of the existing structure as far as possible, and to minimise the impact on the surrounding area whilst also converting to provide unique and bespoke modern living requirements.
We are able to convert buildings for a variety of uses ranging from Use Class E through to tourism, leisure and residential dwellings.

David Long
David joined BCM in 2013 and became a partner in 2015, heading up planning and development services. He has worked both within the public and private sector, being firstly employed by a Local Planning Authority to spearhead major development projects. David then worked as a planning and development consultant and became a director of a multi-discipline development practice. He manages the very successful Planning and Development team who look after a wide range of projects.

Harry joined BCM Wilson Hill in 2022 and is interested in specialising in rural architecture after working for multiple practices across various sectors in the south-west since 2015. Harry has a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Greenwich and recently became a RIBA affiliate.
